| Mr Akhil Susheel and Mr Nikhil Shaji have completed geological mapping of rock exposures in and around Karingalkkadu of Kamatchinagar, in Velur, located in Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu state. They have mapped the area in 1m x 1m units plots of 1km x 1km area, known for the occurrences of disthene-sillimanite-garnet association. They took about 22 days ( 11 field units of 2 days each), facing challenges of varied extend. The geological community could expect a valuable product from their effort. They are completing their thesis with a detail small scale geological map of the area.
